Run promotions with discount codes customers enter at checkout.

Create a discount

Open Discounts → New discount and set:

  • Code — what the customer types (e.g. WELCOME10). Keep it short and memorable.
  • Type & amount — a percentage off (e.g. 10%) or a fixed amount off.
  • Limits (optional) — an expiry date and/or a cap on total uses.

Save, and the code is live immediately.

How customers use it

Shoppers enter the code in the cart or at checkout; the total updates before they pay. Budhil always recalculates totals on the server, so a discount can't be faked from the browser.

Ideas

  • WELCOME10 in your newsletter and welcome email to convert first-time visitors.
  • A short-lived launch code for your go-live announcement.
  • A thank-you code on the order confirmation to bring customers back.

Stack with the free-shipping nudge

Your storefront already nudges shoppers toward a free-shipping threshold. A small discount plus "you're $6 away from free shipping" is a strong combination for average order value.
